Guildford Flames completed a convincing 7-3 victory against the visiting Dundee Stars at the Spectrum on Saturday.
Flames opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period, and never looked back to record their third win in succession.
Ben Davies opened the scoring for the Flames inside the opening five minutes. Two minutes later Davies was on the mark once again to extend Flames advantage. The scoring was ended in the opening period when Calle Ackered picked up the puck on a turnover and raced away to fire the puck into the net after 13:07. Malcom Gould put the visitors on the board towards the halfway mark of the second period. A couple of minutes later Flames scored again, this time on the powerplay, when Ian Watters forced the puck home in a goalmouth scramble, but a Jimmy Jensen strike 90 seconds from the end of the period made it a two-goal game. Early in the third period Flames scored on a 5 on 3 powerplay thanks to Kruise Reddick to make the score 5-2. Stars, on the powerplay hit back through Gabriel Levesque at 51:30, but a Rhett Rachinski reply and a Brett Ferguson shorthanded empty net goal sealed all two points for Flames.
