Flames hit ten to blow Capitals away. 3rd January

A four point haul from Brett Ferguson and hat trick’s from both Kruise Reddick and Geoff Walker, ensured Flames skated to a comfortable 10-1 victory against the visiting Edinburgh Capitals in front of a crowd of over 1,700 at the Spectrum on Tuesday night.
With just 63 seconds of the contest Flames opened the scoring through Reddick on the powerplay. With 12.37 showing on the clock Flames doubled their lead when Ben Campbell netted following a Rhett Rachinski pass. Within ten seconds the hosts had added their third goal of the evening when Reddick intercepted a pass and fired a high shot into the top of the net. Flames made it 4-0 after 17.46 with Capitals Nikita Kolesnikovs serving a minor penalty for hooking, Walker pounced on a rebound to fire past Jordan McLaughlin in the visitors cage.
Walker then added another goal at 24.47 before Capitals struck back three minutes later with a Dylan Anderson powerplay goal. Flames restored their five goal cushion at 39.17 when Jez Lundin’s powerful shot was spilled by McLaughlin into the path of John Dunbar for a simple tap in.
Reddick bought up his hat trick after being set up by Dunbar at 40.59. Walker then completed his third goal of the contest at 48.31. There was still time for Flames to round of the scoring when Rachinski added a ninth goal at 54.16, with Brennan Yadlowski ending the scoring with four minutes remaining.
