Guildford Flames suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Cardiff Devils at the Spectrum on Sunday.
The hosts were out of the traps quickly when John Dunbar opened the scoring after only 20 seconds. 49 seconds later Devils drew level when Joey Haddad scored. With almost 90 seconds left in the opening period the visitors took the lead for the first time through a Mark Richardson strike.
A wrist shot from Erik Lindhagen on the powerplay at 32.36 pulled Flames level. But with both teams having a man in the box and Kevin King thrown out of the game with a five minute major and game misconduct, Stephen Dixon made it 3-2 to the Devils on 36.39.
Devils grabbed their fourth goal of the evening when Bryce Reddick completed the scoring for the night to secure the win for the Welsh Side.
