Surrey Scorchers slipped to a home defeat at the hands of the visiting DBL Sheffield Sharks at Surrey Sports Park on Sunday afternoon by 83-93 in the BBL Championship.
In a scrappy encounter, the visitors took control of the early exchanges by taking a 13-6 lead within minutes of the opening tip off.
By the end of the quarter the sharks had increased their lead to 11 points to lead 28-17. Scorchers tried to get themselves back into the game in the second period, but it was the visitors who held a six-point cushion at half time, leading 49-43.
Scorchers really came into the game in the third quarter sharing this 19-19, but the Sharks held firm in the final quarter to end up worthy winners.
Both Tayo Ogedengbe and Quincy Taylor ended up with 20 points apiece, with 20 points also for Sharks outstanding player on the night, Christopher Alexander.
