Surrey Scorchers picked up their second victory in this season’s BBL Championship after completing a 99-86 victory over the visiting Worcester Wolves at Surrey Sports Park on Sunday.
The visitors were on the front foot in the opening quarter, and at the buzzer had a six-point advantage with the score 24-18, despite Tayo Ogedengbe shooting consecutive three pointers.
Ogedengbe continued his fine three-point throw rhythm alongside Will Atwood as Scorchers went into half time with the home side leading 50-43.
The highlight of the third quarter was the combination play of Jordan Steele and Quincy Taylor alongside some solid defence meant that the Surrey based side went into the final quarter with a ten-point cushion 75-65.
Scorchers saw out the final quarter to pick up their second win in the BBL Championship, thanks to an incredible 92% completion from the free- throw line.
The returning Will Attwood finished top scorer of the match with 26 points alongside a 66% completion of three- point shots. Ogedengbe, once again played a Captains role by picking up 24 points for the hosts.
