Storm announce more signings ahead of new campaign

Surrey Storm have signed South African Shadine Van Der Merwe ahead of the forthcoming 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague Season.

The 25-year-old defender has represented South Africa at full international level and will make her Storm debut in 2019.

Shadine spent five years with Gauteng Jaguars, the Pretoria born player captained the Jaguars in the 2017/18 season.

Storm have also announced the big signing of Australian Sharni Layton, who will be representing the Surrey side in the forthcoming British Fast5 All-Stars Championship at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday 13th October.

The 30-year-old defender has represented the Aussie Diamonds 46 times, winning two Gold medals in the World Cup and one Gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Storm have also announced that Yasmin Parsons has re-signed for the forthcoming season.
