Storm bounce back for first home win of the season. 8th May 2018

Despite suffering a defeat at home to Benecos Mavericks on Saturday, Surrey Storm returned to winning ways with a resounding 70-42 victory against the visiting Celtic Dragons at Surrey Sports Park on Monday afternoon.
Another massive crowd were present as Storm put 4 goals on the board early before Dragons replied. Strong attacking play from the hosts throughout the opening quarter meant Storm took an early 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Storm maintained their pressure in the second quarter. The defensive unit caught man y rebounds and interceptions as the hosts went into the break leading by 33-17.
Both teams started the third quarter by converting their centre passes into goals. Storm began to apply more defensive pressure which resulted in turnovers in the hosts favour. During the third quarter Katty Holland came on as GD, as Storm ended the quarter with a comfortable 56-28 lead.
At the start of the final Quarter, Jade Forbes-Wattley came on and went to WD. The quarter also saw Storm make more changes, including Charmaine Baard who went to GA and Emily Porter who came on as GS with three and a half minutes left. Despite some sterling effort from the visitors, Storm responded by adding more goals to run out worthy winners and record their first home win of the season.
