Storm stung by Waps in Tom Reseigh Trophy game. 20th May2018

Surrey Storm suffered a 63-36 loss against unbeaten Wasps at Surrey Sports Park on Friday.
Playing for the Tom Reseigh Trophy, Wasps came into the game boasting an unbeaten record of played 11 won11, to sit on top of the Vitality Netball Superleague.
In a close opening quarter, with strong Storm defence from Jo Tripp and Katy Holland, the visitors went into the buzzer holding a narrow four goal advantage at 17-13.
At the start of the second quarter Storm made changes with Mikki Austin coming in at Centre and Yasmin Parsons coming in at Wing Attack. With the combination of Holland and Tripp creating turnovers, Storm pushed Wasps all the way, at one stage reducing the gap to just three goals, only for Wasps to finish the quarter strongly and go into the break with a nine goal advantage 31-22.
More changes resulted for the hosts at the start of the third quarter with Tallisah Haynes at WD. Parsons at Centre, Georgia Lees at WA and at GA Charmaine Baard. Wasps continued to have the upper hand in the match as they increased their advantage to 15 goals. Another change for Storm saw Emily Porter come on as GS. Still the visitors dominated and went into the final quarter holding an 18 goal lead 47-29.
Despite some impressive long shots from Baard and excellent defence from Lorraine Kowalewska and Tripp, Wasps finished the match strongly to record a 63-36 win and make it 12 straight wins in the League.
