Surrey Storm were defeated by Wasps 68-43 at the Ricoh Arena on the opening night of the new Vitality Netball Superleague Season
The opening quarter saw the reigning Superleague Champions and Storm trade blows with Sigi Burger making her Superleague debut. Wasps took the opening quarter 17-8. Rhea Dixon took the place of Burger, moving to Goal Attack.
A dominate display from the hosts Georgina Fisher gave Waps a 35-19 lead at half time. Tania Hoffman freshened the side up with some positional changes as Tallisa Haynes replaced Georgia Lees as part of the mid court. A strong performance from Dixon wasn’t enough to stop Wasps ending the quarter leading 52-30.
The final quarter saw Wasps controlling the match, while Storm’s 20-year-old Emily Gulvin made her debut for the Surrey outfit.
